Nelson Mandela
South Asia Alliance for Poverty Eradication (SAAPE) and People’s SAARC regional secretariat join the world in mourning the death of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela on 5 December 2013. We are deeply saddened and shocked by the demise of a great person of the 21st century.
Mandela dedicated his whole life to social justice, equality, and human dignity. He has been the inspiration for the world for finding unity in diversity that ends indignity and discrimination and promotes equal identity of human beings in society. He will remain an inspiration for us to struggle for the freedom and dignity of our people. His struggle against apartheid and poverty makes him an even more relevant leader to follow today. We offer our heart-felt condolences to Mandela’s family, friends, and followers at this difficult time of immense loss and grief.
We celebrate Mandela’s life as an inspiration to continue our struggle, dauntlessly, for justice in this unacceptable unjust world!
